FAQ – Financial Planning
A comprehensive financial plan is a unique, customized planning engagement that involves looking at a client’s entire financial picture and advising them on how to achieve their short- and long-term financial goals. The analysis and planning addresses topics such as education savings, retirement, taxes, estate, insurance, and investments.
Oftentimes, people are only aware of a couple areas (if that) of their financial picture and how they fit into their long-term goals and objectives. A comprehensive financial plan provides robust analysis to areas of your financial life that you may not realize even exist, let alone need to be addressed.
Comprehensive financial planning is an involved process that requires hours of analysis and work behind the scenes along with the time it takes to present conclusions and recommendations driven by the analysis. The cost of a comprehensive planning engagement varies based on complexity, but typically costs anywhere from $2,250 to $3,750. The fee could be much higher or lower but, again, typically falls within that range. The delivery of a comprehensive financial plan typically takes two or three in-person meetings over three to six weeks.
While the majority of the effort and work required falls on our shoulders, you will be required to provide a significant amount of financial details at the beginning of the engagement. After that, your only requirement is to answer any questions we might have as we work through the material you provided and attend the presentation meeting(s) as scheduled.
No. All we ask of you is a willingness to be transparent about your finances and goals and a willingness to provide the financial details we request. We will make this process as easy as possible for you regardless of your level of sophistication when it comes to money and finances. There is no “stupid” question!
